Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to upload her music via the internet including her independently launched single Bound. In July of 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time was interested in having her create Rihanna references. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna had hired by Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October of 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. Also, she was featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. Then, in November, she released two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. She then released on November 13 two new singles called The No One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later she released the song as a single by herself for her debut album. In February of 2019 a music video was made available for the track. The track has received more than 3 million hits on YouTube in its initial week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
